Self-doubt almost stopped Alexandra Huynh of Carmichael from entering the high school classroom where a UC Davis program was offering students an opportunity to present their poetry.

Then a junior at Mira Loma High School, Huynh hadn’t yet given public voice to her poems. But a phone call to her sister reassured her she had nothing to lose.

Applications are now being accepted for a groundbreaking new college program serving students with intellectual disabilities at UC Davis.

We are delighted to announce four UC Davis faculty have been selected to participate in the inaugural cohort of the “P.L.A.C.E. with CAMPSSAH Writing Community.”

The UC Davis MIND Institute and the UC Davis Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion have received a $2.1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education to create an inclusive, four-year college program for students with intellectual disabilities.

The University of California, Davis, received more than $1 million in grants from the National Science Foundation to convene and engage faculty, researchers and industry experts in expanding research and undergraduate instruction at Hispanic Serving Institutions and Minority Serving Institutions, or HSIs and MSIs. The grants focus on computing fields identified as national priorities by the U.S. Office of Science and Technology Policy.
